OmniSYS Roadtrip (Race) - Warmup and Recon
Time for an adventure. Craig and Jim are taking on the OmniSYS Road Race and Crit this weekend, in Greenville, SC.
To Epicize the weekend they decided to roll up on Thursday evening and race the Driveway Crits in Austin.

First up was the Cat 3/4 race. Run on the shortest course - 1 mile - so no climbing, but lots of turns and momentum swings.
Jim on the right, Craig on the left mixin it up.
Ascent data for the 3 race. Jim's data with power numbers left in for transparency a la Armstrong.
Garmin view of the race. 30 minutes, Jim lasted 25, then coasted in planning to do the later race.
The Open race, using the long course 1.6 miles. More flow, long descent, slow climb with short jumper.
Ascent data from the Open crit. Jim lasted the whole race (actually sat up in the last 1/2 lap satisfied.)
Garmin view of the Open crit.
After the crits we rolled up thru Bartonsville to pick up Wes's main squeeze, Rachel, then off to Greensville.
The course pre-ride turned into a pre-drive. Looks like Myhre musta pre-rode...
Last night at the Driveway crits we raced with TLG aka Lee Rusk. This must be his business and location in north Texas.
B-H customer having trouble covering his manary glands and midriff. And his pate.
We found the place to help him with the latter, at least.
Heinous is a numbers man, here's a few for him.
Rolling back thru town on Wesley Avenue. Several appropriate business establishments along the avenue.
This one was closed so we didn't get a chance to shop.
We thought at first it had something to do cycling since it was sporting the Italian tricolor. Down the road further we spotted Tony's Italian restaurant so we suspect that it had been there earlier.
We found the sponsor HQ for the race.
And our pre-drive provided valuable data for analysis. Even driving we were happy that we hadn't ridden it. Lot's of nasty little rollers and mostly rough chipseal.
Tomorrow should fun? Until then.
