Can't wait for San Antonio Winter riding

Todays completed route.  90 miles, 5 hours.  Along the Maine coast from Kittery to Kennebunkport (summer home of fearless leader.)  Today was high around 70 and Jim got to wear his 2 favorite pieces of cycling clothing - Longsleeve jersey and Knickers.  This was like San Antonio Winter riding!!

Since rain was forecast the phone and GPS receiver had to put on their extra protective shields.  Really can't wait for the all-in-one Garmin Edger 705 now!

Maybe didn't need all the GPS stuff today, looks like we're following a bike route!!

Looking across Portsmouth Harbor from Kittery, ME.  Notice the beautiful castle.  Actually a prison which is no longer in service.

Further evidence that the "cockpit" of Jim's bike is bordering on being labelled "garish."

Nubble Lighthouse.

The Snowbyrds haven't gone south for the winter yet, apparently.

Neither have the seagulls.

The water her can only be 60 degrees.  Ah, the craziness of youth.

Coming into York Harbor as we move South to North along the Maine Coast.

Can't get away from this one, can we?

If you don't keep your Lobster properly leashed it can end up in the Lobster Pound.

Or as markings for a "Lobster Speedbump."

Scenes from Ogunquit.

Security is top notch for Fearless Leader.  Time to head back towards Dover.

Last town in Maine, South Berwick.  Home of Berwick Academy, another cool prep school near Dover.

State sign.  10 points.

Dinner again at Newicks Seafood Restaurant.  Notice the predominance of sedans, which coupled with the lower posted speed limits makes cycling very relaxing in New Hampshire compared to our Dualies doing 75mph on FM roads.

These Lobsters are probably wishing they were heading to the pound and not the dinner table.  Remember the scene from "One Crazy Summer" when the guy who played Niedermeyer in "Animal House" used a stethescope to listen to the Lobsters scream in the boiling pot?  No, I didn't think you did.  Nor did you want that visual, sorry.

If Lobster is not your fancy there are the other crustaceans (?Mollusks?) - Clams, Shrimp, Scallops to choose from.
